A True Friend is the Greatest of All Blessings

Some friendships last a while and others last a lifetime. That's what it was for these two.  Don 't know what led them to each other but I believe it was meant to be.
You are definitely two of our greatest blessings.
Donald not only embraced his friend's children, he embraced the next generation as well.

He sure did love his garden.
So glad my children got to know him. They loved playing tricks on him and he was always such a good sport.  They will miss his laugh.
Mike and Donald loved to joke with each other. Each one trying to get the best of the other. Two jokesters for sure.

Rest in Peace, Donald.
We Love You

She's Legal and She's On The Road

How can this be?  Really? Our little Peanut is driving?  Slow down, stop growing up so fast.

Be Safe and No Texting . . . .  you promised.

Goin Once, Goin Twice, Sold . . . . .

I don't know why I like farm and antique auctions so much.  Maybe its the rhythmic chanting of the auctioneer, maybe its the interesting people you get to meet, or maybe its the hope of finding something unusual and getting a great deal on it. They even had buffalo in the background of this auction.  They weren't  for sale  but I think this is the closest I have ever been to one and the first time I have ever seen a mama buffalo nurse her baby.

There was all kinds of stuff at this place. Shopping bags made from feed sacks. Now that's recycling. Notice the milk can with the tractor seat on top painted with  John Deere tractor colors.  Clever idea for a farm seat. You have to take a generational advantaged person with you to these things so that they can explain what some things are.  If you weren't from a farm or from that generation, you wouldn't have the slightest clue what some of the items are.

Then you have the cutest little donkey and her baby that will have a new home  by the end of the day.

Talk about some bacon.

I just love tractors and especially red tractors.

Amazingly I came home with nothing but memories this time.
Priceless - especially when you got to spend the day with your Dad.

When I Watch

Watching Brian waiting patiently for Dakota to make a bracelet, I thought of how sweet they are together and how much love they have for one another.

When I watch my oldest son
With his little daughter,
Reading her books,
Or patiently braiding her hair,
Or waiting while she chooses, and changes her mind,
and chooses, and changes her mind about
What she will wear,
And when I watch him bathing her,
Or kissing a bump on her forehead to make it better,
Or tenderly tucking her into bed at night,
I know that, though I did a lot of things wrong,
I must have done a few things right.

Fast and Furious

Ryker #41 started a new sport after football season was over and it is fast and furious. It's lacrosse.

He is fast, intense, athletic, competitive, and having fun.

We're having fun too. Can't wait until his next game.

Slammin' and Jammin'

Nathan #15 finished out his school basketball season last week. This was his last game as a varsity player for Centennial Middle School.

No surprise, he is the tallest one on the team

Taking pictures with his fans.

Three of his biggest fans.

Hailey was there to support her brother.

Keep on slammin' and jammin' Nathan.

Creative and Cute

Mikey's friend Kendell just finished a production of Hello Dolly this past weekend. She was the prop supervisor for the production.

She is not only talented, but oh so cute and one of the nicest girls you would ever want to meet. She can make anything and loves doing it. She isn't afraid of hard work or getting her hands dirty. Here she is making an antique cash register for the play. It turned our great. By the time she was done, it looked just like a gold antique cash register on stage

She was able to get us second row tickets and we were able to see all of her hard work first hand.

All her hard work paid off.  She was even in the program brochure.
Props Supervisor: Kendell Northrop

She said she hopes to work on huge productions and movies one day and see her credit flash by on the big screen. At the rate she's going I bet she will.
