Bowling is a Ball!

Rob's 30th birthday required some heavy celebrating and one of the advantages bowling has over golf is that you seldom lose a bowling ball. Mike found his ball retired in our attic and in his bag found the official bowling league rules from 1995. That's about how long its been since we bowled. Gone are the days of manual score keeping, there wasn't a pencil in sight. Everything is electronic and automatic now. Although our scores showed a serious need for improvement, we had a ball!

Rob had a great time "Chillin with his Peeps"!
Rob (the lefty) demonstrating his fancy bowling leg work.

Rhiannon (the righty) demonstrating her footwork.

Anisha perfecting her form.

Of course Mike and Seth in a little friendly competition.

Rob's mom, dad and brother were also celebrating with us. It was really great to finally meet them.
Nobody wanted me to put this on the blog for all to see. It shows that sad state of our bowling expertise. What do you expect after being bowling dormant for so many years?

Time to Remember

I don't know what happened to the blog during the month of August. I think I may have fried my brain with too many of those 112 degree days and forgot we had a blog. I can gladly say that we have almost survived another summer in Arizona. We took time to remember September 11th by going to Tempe Beach Park to see their remembrance display. To commemorate those that died, the town of Tempe sets up a flag for every person. On the pole they include a tag with their name and a little information about each person. It is profound to see the number of flags and imagine how many families were affected by this disaster.
