Day of The Dad!

Anisha and Seth invited us over for a pool party and barbecue to celebrate Father's Day. It was great food, great kids and great fun! Can't wait to do it again.

First we were introduced to the newest member of the family. Little Charlie.

Then we prepared for The Wet and Wild Gang!

I Pledge Allegiance To The Flag

Our community had a ceremony on Flag Day which we had never seen before and thought would be a good lesson in patriotism. We went and watched a flag retirement ceremony. There were over 300 flags dropped off from our small community that were no longer usable and needed to be disposed of in a patriotic and respectful way. The veterans in our area held the formal ceremony, first explaining how the 1923 United States Code states that flags when they are no longer fit for display, should be destroyed in a dignified manner, preferably by burning. It felt good to know that other families in our area felt allegiance to their flag and what it stands for. Hopefully the kids will remember something about the evening besides the great food that was served afterwards.

This is just a small sample of the faded, tattered and torn flags that were dropped off from the community ready to retire from service.

The Other Woman

She's tall, attractive and has no cellulite. She might as well be the other woman the way Michael carries on about her. He had a horse just like her when he was young and she's just like those little home wreckers who come in and make the husband feel all young again. Believe me, she gets plenty of attention with all that "horse whispering" stuff that goes on. So far she only gets him on the weekends and I intend to keep it that way.

Momma Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Cowboys!

I don't know why they say that. Have you seen a cowboy in a tight pair of Wranglers lately? We'll talk about that later. Austin wasn't too sure about the whole cowboy thing today. He was excited until it was time to show what ya got. Even with apprehension he was very polite afterwards and rubbed the horse down and said "Thanks Bud, for taking me for a ride". A polite cowboy is always a good thing!

What A Cute Little Ass!

Little Miss Daisy (aka Long Ears) our new little miniature donkey was welcomed to the Ranch family this weekend. She is only 5 months old and sweet as can be. She still misses her mommy a little and loves to be around people. She brays loudly if she's left alone. The goats are close by to keep her company as she adjusts to her new family. We're getting closer to our quest for miniature mules. Enjoy the pictures!
Sheep Emily and the two Busy Body Sisters look on at the new arrival. They were excited to have some company too!

Austin practiced his donkey training techniques and imitated her braying. She looks really small next to a three year old boy. Welcome Miss Daisy! As soon as we get you cart trained we will be "Driving Miss Daisy"!
